Challenge
A national big-box retailer required a rapid logistics solution for its “big and bulky” program during the peak retail season. With limited lead time and significant space requirements, the company needed a 3PL partner capable of quickly standing up operations and managing high-throughput fulfillment across large-format items.
Additionally, through an indirect partnership, the retailer’s affiliated warehouse club also faced seasonal strain. They required dedicated space and resources to handle a surge of holiday-specific items tied to their year-end retail push.
Solution
BroadRange Logistics activated a turnkey solution to support the retailer’s urgent timeline. We provided full-service warehouse and distribution operations specifically tailored to large-item fulfillment, with capacity ramped up quickly to match holiday demand.
For the affiliated warehouse club, BroadRange deployed approximately 120,000 square feet of dedicated space. This was executed through a third-party logistics network, ensuring seamless delivery without disruption to core operations.
Outcomes
- The big and bulky retail program was fully operational on time and on budget.
- BroadRange delivered just over $1 million in billings during the retail period for the big-box operation.
- The affiliated club’s holiday inventory was successfully received, processed, and shipped, enabling reliable in-store and online replenishment during the critical Q4 window.
- Both programs were executed with high service levels, no long-term lease obligations, and flexible capacity adjustments.
Conclusion
This project demonstrated BroadRange Logistics’ ability to rapidly mobilize scalable warehousing solutions under tight deadlines and peak seasonal pressure. By offering flexible terms and a reliable operations framework, we helped two major retail divisions stay agile and in-stock during their most important sales cycle of the year, all while avoiding the burden of long-term infrastructure investment.
